GREENGUARD
MORE INFORMATION
The GREENGUARD* certification is essential to participate in national and international contract supplies and construction of public and residential buildings, or for projects that require LEED (International System for the Classification of Energy Efficiency and the Ecological Footprint of Buildings)
Thanks to their low emissions (Low Indoor Emission), ILVA GREENGUARD-certified products participate in the reduction of air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure in indoor environments, as required by the international furniture and industry furniture market, looking for increasingly eco-sustainable solutions and products with a GREEN imprint.
Choosing ILVA GREENGUARD products means preferring healthy environments for human well-being and making a concrete contribution to a more sustainable future.
CERTIFICATE
Released by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), an independent body for safety certifications based in the United States, the certification is declined in two versions, according to the concentration of furniture present in the indoor environment: GreenGuard (office-type environment - low concentration of furnishings) and GreenGuard Gold (school-like environment - high concentration of furnishings). The certifications can be consulted, and downloaded upon registration, on the UL Spot website: www.spot.ul.com
CATAS QUALITY AWARD - COATING SYSTEM FOR EXTERIOR WOOD
Certifies the quality and durability of the coating system for outdoor use.
MORE INFORMATION
To give this warranty, it is necessary that products, which are part of the exterior coating cycle, pass the specific tests established to ensure the protection of the wood and the quality control of the production batches. The tests aim to verify the following performances:
- 1 year of natural aging (EN 927-3 )
- artificial aging with the use of certified equipment (EN 927-6)
- permeability to water (EN 927-5)
- Presence of non-volatile substances within the defined limits or the solid content must comply with what is reported in the safety and technical data sheets (UNI EN ISO 3251)
- Actual presence in the coating of the substances declared by gas chromatographic analysis (PTP CATAS)
- Effectiveness of biocides evaluated by inhibition test on agar. The test consists in exposing the impregnating agent to fungi cultures against which it will have to demonstrate resistance (PTP CATAS)
- Resistance to liquids at low temperatures (UNI EN 12720)
- Wet adhesion test (EN 927-9)
- Suitability for stacking tested by pressure test (EN927-10)
- UV-VIS transmittance (UNI 11717-1)
- Evaluation of the inclusion of air / micro bubbles in the film (EN927-11)
- Infrared analysis (ASTM E 1252-98)
- Tensile strength (PTP CATAS)

Reaction to fire – Fireproof cycle
IVM Chemicals srl has been carrying out tests to measure the reactions to fire of coating cycles for years.
MORE INFORMATION
Over the years, orientation tests on the products have been carried out and subsequently certification tests have been carried out at the Fire Brigade, which represent the only body capable of certifying and guaranteeing coating cycles.
They omologate products and quantities to be applied on wooden substrates.
